Meet Debra G. Ham
I am originally from the Chicago area (the Indiana side). After graduating from Purdue University, I began moving south reaching Florida in 1982 and Eustis in 2000, with my two beautiful daughters. I retired 2013 after 33+ years as an Administrative Dietitian in healthcare.
Initially, I was self-taught making beaded jewelry to match my work outfits. After retiring, I decided to actually learn how to make jewelry and sought out an instructor in Mount Dora. In the past two years, I have been a little eclectic with the jewelry process, which my business’s Facebook (Mettle Jewelry Designs) reflects. I enjoy searching through bead, antique, junk and rock stores to find odd pieces to incorporate into jewelry I refer to as ‘Found Items’ or ‘Industrial Style’. My latest passion is working with metal, preferably, copper with different textures and patinas. The copper jewelry dominates my work.
