BIOGRAPHY Mark Nichols, originally from Seattle Washington and now residing in Florida is a professional Artist who started in theme park scenic arts and now has his own business creating Children’s Play Areas for Waterparks, Malls, Resorts, etc. BoMar Soft Playgrounds International Inc. is the name of his business. Watercolor painting has been an extra effort during off time. He has been to numerous workshops and have studied under many great watercolor artists. Frank Webb, Judi Wagner, Tony Couch, Tony van Hasselt, Betty Lou Schlemm, Jeane Dobie, all disciples of the great watercolor teacher Ed Whitney. I love the freedom and spontaneity of watercolor along with the richness of color and transparency. The quickness of laying down washes and throwing color in it is my most exciting aspect of the medium. Most of my subject matter is landscape expressionism from my experiences all thoughout Florida and vacationing in Maine. I hope you enjoy my paintings. |
