Meet Sue Cannon
Sue Cannon grew up in Iowa, and graduated with a B.A. in Fine Art. She has been a studio potter her entire adult life. She has done some of the best shows in America, both wholesale and retail, and has sold work through many fine stores and galleries. For eleven years she owned a studio-store in Newport, R.I., but now she lives and works in Apopka, FL. She also spent 13 years sharing her skills with students of Orange County Public Schools.
Sue is well known for her cobalt blue "cherry blossom" ware, but she explores many avenues with clay. After snorkeling the reefs in the Florida Keys, she developed work based on the colorful wildlife there. Recently, she visited Georgia O'Keefe's ranch in New Mexico, and is developing work using the colors of the landscape of the Southwest. Sue is a firm believer that nature is our best inspiration. She loves kayaking, biking, and camping.
Sue's stoneware is hand-decorated with volcanic ash glaze. These pieces are oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe, and completely non-toxic.
